“…soul music is soul music. There’s nothing really new under the sun….”
Kedar Massenburg

_dsc7088-copy-2Celestine is an eclectic soul artist with a velvet voice rich in emotion and experience far beyond her years influenced by some of the great singers of our time.

As the new Voice of Black Box (Ride On Time, Everybody Everybody, Fantasy) since 2015, One of the principal vocalists for ‘Do You Speak Djembe’ (http://doyouspeakdjembe.com), Featured Artist, and Singer-Songwriter/Performer in her own right, Celestine balances nostalgia with modern and culture with fusion, all with prowess.

Living in a household of Barbadian and Jamaican parentage, this Bristol born and bred singer songwriter was surrounded and influenced by nearly every musical style under the sun   (or rain as England would have it!).

Celestine’s recording and songwriting journey has seen her work with Gary Barlow (Take That), Cameron McVey (Nina Cherry) Roni Size, Diane Warren, Wayne Hector and Stargate (NeYo, Rihanna, Mary J Blige, Beyonce) to name but a few.

Performing at some of the UK’s most prestigious venues (Royal Albert Hall – Cancer Research, Dominion Theatre, London – Royal Variety Performance and The Grosvenor House Hotel, London – Rainbow Trust Ball, Celestine has honed her craft as a musical performer and dancer supporting and gracing the same stages of some of the biggest names in music (Pee Wee Ellis, Millie Jackson, Mica Paris, Sade, Dame Shirley Bassey, Lionel Richie).

Appearing most recently on the acclaimed BBC1 show, The Voice UK 2014, Celestine wowed the judges/coaches and audience with her powerful vocals and dynamic stage presence leading to a coveted spot on Sir Tom Jones’ Team.

With the beautifully self/co-produced debut album ‘Secret Side’ (2010) under her belt, a string of professional accomplishments and prominent performances supporting major artists, and a steady flow of releases from numerous collaborators (Andy Compton -PENG, DJ Break -Hope- Symmetry Records/Hospital Records) and Dr Meaker (Dirt & Soul –Circus Records), Celestine brings together for the second time some of the best musicians that the UK, Europe, Africa and the Caribbean have to offer, combining the talents she is most passionate about into a new project, Celestine’s Native Synergy.
